Kevin Healey

Kevin Healey

Guitar/vocals

Kevin Healey is the latest addition to Union Gap UK on Guitar and vocals

Kev started performing in original heavy metal bands on guitar in the mid 1970's. This lead to a move to London and then Long Island, New York until the mid-80's. On his return to the UK he joined Brian Poole and the Electrix. Originally as an emergency sound engineer but was subsequently asked to join on the bass guitar when the position became available. Kev spent many years with the Electrix backing Brian and many other artistes along the way, touring home and abroad on and off for 30 years. During this time he first met, worked alongside and became friends with Union Gap.

After leaving the Electrix, Kev spent 4 years playing with Mike Pender’s Searchers on lead guitar, performing on many festivals and TV and radio shows at home and abroad. On leaving Mike, he worked again with the Electrix for a few years but this time on lead guitar and a little keyboard. After a short stint living in Lanzarote and playing in several bands over there, Kev returned home and initially worked in his own studio producing music and videos for various people. During this time, he was contacted by Ray Martin about joining several bands but it never really got past the rehearsal stage as it wasn't the right fit for him. Then, in 2023, out of the blue came a call from a familiar voice from the past - Tom Harding of Union Gap.  The rest as they say, is history!  In Kev’s own words “I can only say I am glad I waited for the right opportunity. I'm very proud to have been accepted as a member of such a great band.”
